Paris: Private Guided Flight Tour
- Small group
- Duration: 1 hour
It's a must if you want to see the palace! My family and I made it a day trip. It was a 30 min drive from Paris. Make sure to line up early because even if you have your tickets the line was still long. The audio guide came in handy and it was nice to learn the history. Make sure you use comfortable walking shoes since you are going to walking throughout the whole estate. Once you enter the gardens there are restaurants and they have really good food. Also if you want to splurge and a bit lazy to walk they offer golf cart and bike rentals to get around! Overall it was a great experience and it's a must!
Traveled easily by train from Paris, on arrival there was a short walk to the palace itself. The audio tour was very informative and the palace impressive. The gardens were definitely the highlight of this Chateau, I recommend a bike rental (you can also rent golf carts) to get around faster as the grounds are vast. Fast food is available in many areas as well as wine and beer and sit-down restaurant.
It was not explained that you can enter the gardens in the morning and the time to enter Versailles has nothing to do with visiting the gardens and other attractions! The fountains are launched for half an hour throughout the day, and in the evening even the largest fountain was not launched! After 6 pm, only three fountains were working. This is not a fountain show!
We had a wonderful time exploring the palace and gardens - highly recommend this activity! Just a note, children are free but also need to book tickets (via website). Golf buggy is a great way to explore the gardens with little ones.
The palace is amazing. However, make sure to also visit the trianons, the village of the queen and the gardens. Spend some time by the Grand Canal! It's an amazing experience and it takes a full day to appreciate the site enough.
