Walk along the Levada da Referta and Castelejo and discover this man-made irrigation canal that as many others in Madeira, is used to transport water from the northern part of the island to the South.
This morning trekking will take you by winding paths built by men several years ago. You will have the chance to admire some of the villages from Madeira's North Coast, as well as the Penha d'Águia Rock.
Passing by the plantations of local farmers, you will learn about the variety of the different crops, and how farming is practiced on this side of the island. This is an easy walk with a total length of 5.5 km.
