  • Learn about Roman heritage and Pula's rich history
  • Explore the old town with an expert guide
What to expect

There's no hiding Pula's biggest pull – its enormous Roman Arena. Feel the atmosphere of ancient Rome and the buzz of modern Croatia. You'll get to snap photos inside the city's most famous monument and see all the top spots of the old town, too.

We begin in an era when togas were all the rage. Your guide will bring to life the times of gladiators and roaring crowds on a visit to its towering and remarkably well-preserved Roman Arena.

After your visit to the arena, we'll round off with a walk and free time in Pula's pretty old quarter. Where hip cafés, bars and chic boutiques sit happily among ancient ruins, it's one of the Istrian Riviera's must-see spots.

The tour felt rushed we could have done with more free time in Pula as the guide was saying could do the tunnels or the cathedral and things and free time was 30mins and we had to get back to mini bus. Could do with about 2hrs in Pula

The guide was excellent and the amphitheatre well worth the visit. At the end we didn't have much free time to enjoy the town and the shops or stop for lunch. I would have preferred longer to get the most from the day. I appreciate it was only a half day trip but it could have been more enjoyable as a full day.
