This is one of the best day tours I've ever taken. Of course it's nice to get to take a tour of the island, but the highlight was our guides Admilson and Ailton sharing so much of the local culture. Admilson took us to his childhood home, where his mother made us more cuscuz and fidjós than we could eat. He told us about his family's background, in relationship to the history of the island, which helped give us some insight into the history and culture of Cabo Verde. Ailton took us on an impromptu visit into a local school, where we got to meet some of the children and listen to them sing. And when we went to the Rabelados village, everyone came out to see Admilson, who the kids referred to as their godfather. Everywhere we went on the island, they knew the locals, and it felt like we were welcome guests instead of tourists. I hope that I can travel with them again when I come back someday to visit the other islands. Obrigado!

We had a great an very special time. The guides are very professional, they know how to adapt to your needs and preferences and they always do their best to assure you have a wonderful time. After this first excursion we booked the rest of the days with them and it was an excellent investment. This full day trip is perfect to explore the island and discover what Santiago has to offer, you get a bit of everything, culture, nature, beach, local cusine… We just had an amazing day! We are experienced travelers and we’ve booked many trips and guides all over the world. This guys are just great, we strongly recomend them!

We were hesitant about whether it would be worth the full day or cost but we are so so glad we did this. It was the highlight of our visit to Santiago as you see so much in a say. The tour guide Maria was amazing she taught us so much about the history, culture and life in Cape Verde. The highlight was definitely the cooking - the people were so so kind and lovely. Fascinating to see the plantations and rum distillery. Tyne views weren’t great due to cloud but this was out of their control!! 10/10

YOU CANT MISS THIS! incredible tour with the best tourist guide. We met Luisa who made us a delicious tipical cape verdian breakfast , and then we visit all the most interesting places of Santiago. Truly, the best. Garcia knows very well the history of the country and he explains it sooo good. You won’t regret. “Life is good” Thank you very much Admilson!!!

Maria was perfect as a guide! Super friendly and authentic! Although the distillery and the botanical garden were unfortunately closed, the day was great!
