Bekijk de binnenkant van een vulkaan en loop over het pad waar duizenden jaren geleden lava stroomde. Tijdens deze tour bezoekt u de lavatunnel Raufarhólshellir, op slechts 30 minuten van Reykjavík. De lavatunnel is een van de grootste van IJsland en is tot wel 30 meter breed en 10 meter hoog.

Het plafond van de lavatunnel is bij de ingang ingestort, waardoor prachtige lichtzuilen ontstaan. Je ervaart een verbluffende kleurenpracht in de tunnel, veroorzaakt door de verschillende mineraalsoorten in het gesteente. De lavatunnel is een unieke natuurervaring en het is alsof je een nieuwe wereld betreedt. Je loopt zo'n 350 meter de lavatunnel in en de temperatuur in de grot is ongeveer 4 graden. De grot is ook gebruikt als decor voor scènes uit de Hollywoodfilm Noah met Anthony Hopkins.
