Voor dit half dagje diepzeevissen net buiten de kust van Cyprus heb je een haak, een lijn en een zinker nodig. Ga samen met een lokale, Engelssprekende visser de frisse zeelucht opsnuiven en vergezel hem tijdens hun dagelijkse vangst op zijn favoriete plekjes.

Nog voor de hete middagzon gaat branden, trek je naar de zee van de Cypriotische oostkust om te genieten van een rustgevende ochtend diepzeevissen. Je ontmoet een lokale visser in Protaras en gaat aan boord om in de open zee te varen. Hij neemt je mee naar hun favoriete visplekjes en toont je de beste technieken om de vangst van de dag binnen te halen.

En er is nog meer: je kunt ook proberen te lijnvissen, waarbij het lokaas door de beweging van de boot door het water gesleept wordt, of je hengelt met een haak, een lijn en een net. Trip was cancelled last minute and rescheduled for the next day with no explanation to why. On the description it says the trip will last 4-8 hours, we was only out 3/3.5 hours. Definitely not worth the money. Expected to be out for a lot longer than we was to give us a better chance of catching a fish. Out of 10 people on the boat only one person caught and it felt like there was no effort to attempt to find the fish. There wasn’t much explanation of what was going on. Do not recommend at all.

Nothing like advertised was not told Tuna season doesn,t start until June/July until on the boat . Skipper did not attempt to fish for other game fish like barracuda, bluefish or kingfish just gave us small fish tackle to dangle over the side for baby fish like puffer fish and red mullet not even a chance of trying for something more than a few inches long , and before anyone says otherwise I am a very experienced angler in both sea and freshwater and worked on commercial boats .

Niemand aan boord heeft een zwemvest gedragen, gezien de ruige zee zou dit voor de veiligheid wel belangrijk zijn. Overigens heeft het meerendeel 90% ongeveer alleen maar lopen over geven. Hier kan een excursie natuurlijk ook niks aan doen. Misschien als advies geven om reisziekte tabletten te slikken vanwege de ruige zee.

Skipper was friendly and helpful. Would have liked to get some water as it was very hot and I finished my water quickly. We did receive a cold drink but is was not cold. But overall it was a great experience

A real taste of what's to come.Heading inland, you'll arrive mid-morning at rustic and laidback Fikardou. All cobblestones and historic houses, time seems to have frozen here. And with free time to explore, you'll find that ancient traditions still hold their way. It's so well-preserved that it's on UNESCO's tentative list of world heritage sites. Next, you'll head to the 12th-century Macharias Monastery, which is located on a remote hillside. Its lavishly decorated interior houses a sacred icon of the Virgin Mary.Then, it's time for a traditional Cypriot lunch, prepared with locally sourced ingredients and served at a family-run restaurant on the way to Lefkara. There are very similar tombs in Alexandria, demonstrating the strong ties between the two cities in ancient times.'After a coffee pit-stop along the way, you'll stop by Kourion archaeological site to see landmarks such as the theatre – dating from the 2nd century BC – and the Agora. En route to Paphos, there's a photo stop at Petra tou Romiou – or Aphrodite's Rock – where, legend has it, the ancient Greek goddess of love and beauty emerged from the sea foam. Andreas says, ‘At Kourion, you see the ruined house of Eustolios and find out what life was like here before the city was destroyed by an earthquake in the 4th century.'Next, we'll head to ancient Paphos for a guided visit of the Tombs of the Kings, the House of Dionysos and its well-preserved mosaics. Andreas says, ‘The rock-hewn Tombs of the Kings were not actually intended for royalty, but instead the aristocracy and island governors were laid to rest here. The name reflects the sheer grandeur of the necropolis.' Later, you'll enjoy some free time to shop and wander around Paphos Harbour. Maybe you can stroll along the waterfront or grab a bite to eat at one of the many terrace cafés.
