De tentoonstellingen van het MUCEM presenteren een rijkdom aan cultuur en tonen de sociale, wetenschappelijke en politieke geschiedenis van de Euro-mediterrane wereld, van de prehistorie tot heden, waarbij beeldende kunst, antropologie, geschiedenis, archeologie en hedendaagse kunst worden gecombineerd. De permanente tentoonstelling "Le Grand Mezze", gewijd aan het mediterrane dieet, neemt je mee op reis van "veld tot bord", van de kleurrijke markten van de Middellandse Zee tot multinationale restaurantketens.
