The plunging volcanic landscape of Fuerteventura's mountainous interior goes far beyond its sun-soaked beaches. And there's no better way to navigate this rugged and somewhat unforgiving terrain is on this full-day 4x4 tour.

You'll head straight for the island's central mountains. Heading off-road onto hairpin tracks, you'll bump around the lunar-like landscapes of the Roque de Moro, one of the island's highest volcanic peaks. Here, you'll get breathtaking views over the buffeted west coast before dropping down to Cofete. This mostly abandoned village is home to the mysterious Winter Villa – rumoured to have been a Nazi hideout after World War II.

There'll be a photo stop on Cofete beach, and, if the weather's right, extra beach time on the east coast, before you make your way to El Puertito. Here, we'll take a pause – the perfect chance to look around, swim or grab a bite to eat. The final stop of the day is at Punta de Jandia, Fuerteventura's southern tip. Stand at the edge of the island where the ocean meets the sky, rounding off the tour by soaking in show-stopping views.

    Wir haben die Tour schon einmal vor 2 Jahren mitgemacht. Damals war der Aufenthalt in Cofete viel länger, auch war ein zusätzlicher Bade-Stop sowie ein Mittagessen in Puertito vorgesehen. Dieses Mal waren wir von der Tour jedoch enttäuscht, da alles sehr gehetzt ablief. Der Aufenthalt in Cofete war viel zu kurz, es standen weniger als 30 Min. zur Verfügung. Auch fehlte die Zeit zum Baden. Dies wäre nur in Puertito möglich gewesen, dann hätte allerdings keine Möglichkeit bestanden etwas zu essen.

    Die Straße nach Cofete ist nichts für Leute, die dem Fahrer nicht vertrauen. Die Tour macht sehr viel Spaß und der Guide hatte ein gutes Wissen von der Gegend und den Leuten sowie der Geschichte.

    Unser Guide Tino war zügig aber sicher auf den ungeteerten Serpentinen unterwegs. Er hat uns eindringlich vor dem Meer in Cofete gewarnt, aber der Anblick und das Rauschen des Meeres allein waren gigantisch. Ich persönlich hätte mir einen etwas längeren Aufenthalt dort für einen Spaziergang gewünscht. Wir haben viel gelernt über das Meer, die Geschichte, die Landwirtschaft und die Pflanzen auf Fuerteventura. Alles in Allem top.

    Waren als erstes entäuscht das Fahrer kein Deutsch gesprochen hat und auch nicht bereit war irgendetwas zu erklären oder zur Insel zu sagen,meinte er sei nur der Fahrer.Gefahren ist der ganz gut nur wars halt sehr schweigsame Unternehmung da 3 paare mit unterschiedlichen Nationalitäten. Ausser am dem höchste Punkt der Tour,wo es echt witzig windig war,eine sehr Uninteressante Reise.Die "Ortschaft" zum essen etwas arg heruntergekommen.Essen dort war Preis/leistung ganz ok aber Unfreundlich
