Ce qui vous attend

La côte dalmatienne de la Croatie héberge un des plus beaux parcs naturels du pays: le parc de Biokovo. Cette excursion d'une demi-journée vous promet un programme de haut niveau, puisque vous entreprenez l'ascension à pied du point culminant de la Dalmatie, le sommet Sveti Jure ou Saint-Georges. Le jeu en vaut la chandelle, car vous aurez des vues infinies sur la mer Adriatique et les îles voisines.

Vous roulez jusqu'au parc naturel de Biokovo, le paradis de la flore et de la faune endémiques. Il vous offre en outre des panoramas des villages côtiers de la côte dalmatienne. Une fois dans le parc, vous pouvez affronter le point culminant de la Dalmatie, le sommet Sveti Jure qui culmine à quelque 1 762 mètres au-dessus du niveau de la mer.

Du sommet, vous apercevez la mer, les îles et les villages, ainsi que les vignobles en terrasses au loin. Avant le retour, vous disposez de temps libre pour explorer le parc naturel de Biokovo et recharger vos batteries.

Looming large over Makarska, the Biokovo mountain range is a sight to behold – and explore. Buckle up and enjoy a scenic 4x4 journey up above the Adriatic coast into the Biokovo mountain range. Along the way, stop to admire the monument of Galeb wings in Podgora and visit one of the oldest churches in Podbiokovlje. Then, you'll arrive at Biokovo Nature Park. And the beauty of travelling by 4x4 is that you can travel to the top of Sveti Jure, the highest peak, with ease. You'll then have a picnic at Pod Vošcem mountain lodge.

Boat ride through Croatia’s Neretva Delta with lunch

If you're craving a slice of nature and want a change from the throng of Croatia's historic cities, then the Neretva Delta is what you're after. Within an hour and a half of Split, it's a mosaic of waterways, marshes and lagoons that you can peacefully meander along as you switch your holiday to a slower pace for the day.You'll arrive in the morning at Villa Neretva, where you'll board a trupica – a traditional Croatian riverboat – and take to the waterways of the Neretva River. The river's wetlands sprawl across Bosnia and Herzegovina, with a relatively small stretch flowing through Croatia before it pours out into the Adriatic Sea. In this protected conservation area, you'll glide through the clear water, with a good chance of spotting herons, egrets and pygmy cormorants. There are over 300 species of birds here among the other wildlife, so keep an eye out for some more unusual finds, like colourful kingfishers, black and yellow fire salamanders and vibrant Balkan green lizards.Past Lake Kuti, you'll stop for lunch at Neretva House Tavern, which can only be reached by boat, for a feast of traditional Dalmatian dishes. Then, relax as you weave through the green wetlands, on your return to land.
