Le Cercle d'Or est un itinéraire populaire qui passe par une série des sites les plus remarquables et les plus variés du sud-ouest de l'Islande. Si vous ne faites qu'une excursion en Islande, c'est celle-ci qu'il faut choisir. Au cours d'une journée, vous verrez une nature incroyable et des sites inoubliables.

Dans la zone géothermique de Geysir, vous aurez la chance d'observer le jet de Strokkur, une source d'eau bouillante, à une hauteur de 30 mètres dans l'air toutes les 8 minutes.

La cascade emblématique de Gullfoss, ou Golden Falls, se trouve à seulement 7 minutes en voiture de Geysir, dans la rivière glaciaire Hvítá. Sa forme élégante et majestueuse n'est pas comme les autres. Observez l'eau de la rivière torrentielle dégringolet en deux étapes dans un canyon de 32 mètres de profondeur.

Le parc national de Þingvellir (Thingvellir) n'est pas seulement un site d'émerveillement géologique, situé à l'intersection des plaques tectoniques nord-américaines et eurasiennes, mais aussi un lieu chargé d'histoire. Écoutez des histoires de luttes géographiques et politiques, de compromis et d'évolution continue. Le parc national a été accepté sur la liste du patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO pour ses valeurs culturelles en 2004.

En outre, la visite comprend une visite du lac de cratère volcanique Kerið.
