Not far from Funchal and hidden between high mountains and deep valleys you´ll discover several remote villages. Stop at Estreito Câmara de Lobos village, where the finest Madeira wine in the world is produced. The landscape is unique: terraces covered with vineyards. See Boca da Corrida, an amazing viewpoint situated around 1,200 meters above sea level, which provides a great view of Curral das Freiras and all the highest mountains of Madeira. Discover Jardim da Serra, a small village important in cherry production. In spring, the valley around the village is completely covered with a large variety of wildflowers.
Continue to Cabo Girão, the highest sea cliff in Europe and, at 580m, one of the highest worldwide. There, you can experience skywalking over a balcony made of clear glass. Finally, explore Câmara de Lobos, a picturesque fishing village where they fish the unique black scabbard fish at a depth of 1,000m.
