On this tour, visit the Lindenhof, where the Romans and the German kings had their castles. Explore the Protestant St. Peter's church and the enchanted cloister of the Fraumünster Church with its murals of Zurich’s mystical legends. See the Grossmünster with its beautiful church windows and its ancient crypt, with the statue of Carl the Great from the 15th century.
The tour takes you right into the center of the old medieval town to see some of its guild houses and residential buildings, and hear stories about their infamous historical inhabitants.
Pass by the monument of the 16th-century reformer Huldrych Zwingli. Take a close look at the 17th-century Rathaus and decipher its stone carvings. Eventually, traverse the Belle Epoque district, where you will hear the story of a tragic 19th-century hero and the rise of Zurich to the economic metropolis that it still is today. The tour ends at Bellevue Square.
