Stop off at the harbor for a photo opportunity, where you enjoy a beautiful view of the Lake of Zurich, and the city and surrounding hills. Drive along the "Gold Coast" to Meilen, where you will then cross the lake on a ferryboat. This was a very well-organized tour of the major cultural and historical highlights of the city of Zürich. The bus was easy to find and we departed promptly into the city traffic. Our guide gave excellent commentary over the course of several hours in English and Spanish. The vehicle ferry across Lake Zurich was a nice touch, as was the cablecar ascent in Adliswil. The peak boasted great views of the region complemented by a nice treat at the Felsenegg restaurant—though it was an overcast day for us. We concluded with a brief walking tour of the Altstadt.

The ferry ride is nothing to write home about. I'm surprised they put it as a feature. They should stop at Christmas markets in season instead of the same old places. When there is fog or snow or haze, the cable car ride is essentially pointless. Luckily on our trip the trees were blanketed in snow.

I had been to Zurich before, but only for 1 day. This tour gave me the highlights of the city that I would have missed on my own. Well worth it! Not tons of walking but enough to get you off the bus (coach) and up close to buildings and views for great pictures. The drive along Lake Zurich and seeing the “Gold Coast” and the “Silver Coast” was great! That was news to me. And the short ferry ride going from one coast to another was fun. The bus took us to catch a tram or cable car to Felsenegg. Gorgeous view from up there and a must for taking great pictures. Don’t forget to grab some hot chocolate or some gluhwein at the restaurant at Felsenegg. Once off the cable car, you do have to walk to get to the restaurant.
