Zakynthos: Island Day Trip with Turtles, Swimming, and Caves

1. Zakynthos: Island Day Trip with Turtles, Swimming, and Caves

t After a convenient pickup from your hotel, head to Kalamaki beach on Zante's southern shores. Enjoy the pristine beach with soft sand and warm waters, protected by National Marine Park. See where the endangered loggerhead sea turtles nest. You may spot tiny baby turtles breaking out of their shells. Next, head to Laganas beach to board the glass-bottom boat. Sail to the Keri Caves, carved by time, tides, and wind. Follow the coastline, admiring the white beaches, rock arches, forested hills, and enormous limestone cliffs that fall into the sea. Pass through the famous rock arch, Kamara.  Stop for a 20-minute swim just outside the entrance to a vast cave. Climb back on board to head to Marathonisi, known as Turtle Island, an exotic, green, and coincidentally turtle-shaped island. Enjoy an hour on the golden sandy beach where you can swim and snorkel. Head back and pass the famous Cameo island bridge. Enjoy the idyllic views of secluded beaches surrounded by steep white limestone. Enjoy a final stop at the award-winning Aristeon ecological olive oil press museum in Lithakia. Explore the history of olive oil making on the island with experts.  Enjoy free tasters of local olives and traditional bread with different flavored extra virgin olive oils (most likely lemon, orange, and garlic). Take a sample of olive oil shampoo, soap, body cream, or face cream. You can also buy these products to support local businesses.

Well and quickly arranged

Booked the day before for 28 euros. If you walk through the streets in Zakynthos you will also see stalls with 22 euros. We did not really have such shops in Zakanthos city (base). Therefore booked through Getyoureguide. Hour later email with transfer time. Luxury van with which we were brought. On arrival we were told the return time. Upon entering the company was a bit difficult because of the tickets over the phone. Fortunately it turned out well. Safe quite pricey ... 5 euros, of which you get 2 euros return. Park itself has a lot of fun slides, but few pools to really swim. Some slides you have to do with 2 people. That is a disadvantage.

If you want to get a great overall impression of the island, this tour is a must. We were very lucky with our driver Dinos. Although the journey was over rough and smooth, we felt very comfortable and, above all, very safe. We really enjoyed the entire tour.

Was a great day out. The water park is fun, 6 hours is more than enough. The pick up was fine apart from on the way home there was confusion on which bus was ours. Apart from that all good
