    1. Zakynthos: Half-Day Trip to Marathonisi and Keri Caves

Start with pickup from your hotel and discover the highlights of the southern region of Zakynthos. The first stop will be at the Argassi Bridge which was constructed in 1885. This bridge is now situated off the coast of the island but was once a river crossing. Then, stop at Kalamaki Beach to learn about the turtle nests in the area. Next, embark on a 3-hour boat cruise from the port in the town of Laganas. Stop at the nearby island of Marathonisi where you can admire its beautiful caves and white sand beaches. Keep a look out for the Caretta turtles who inhabit the surrounding waters. Continue by sailing to the Keri Caves located on the southern coast of Zakynthos, where you can enjoy a stop for swimming. Return to the port, and travel to the Aristeon Olive Oil Press. Learn about the long history of olive oil production on the island and taste some samples. Finally, be returned to you...

We enjoyed our tour to Marathonisi and Keri Caves. We were picked up on time and there were only 6 of us in the tour group. We firstly stopped at Kalamaki beach to see the turtle nests and our guide gave us some information about the turtles, which was interesting. We then proceeded to Laganas to get on the boat to turtle island and the caves. It was very chaotic with lots of people waiting for boats and we were left here by our guide to get on a boat with lots of others not from our tour. The boat trip was enjoyable, as we saw several turtles and then proceeded to the caves, which included a stop for swimming in the beautiful crystal blue waters. We then had a stop at Marathonisi , which was incredibly busy. After returning to land, we visited the olive oil press which was really interesting and we were able to sample and purchase the olive oil. There was no pressure to buy anything which was nice. . We finally visited cameo island at the perfect time to take sunset photos.

What people are saying about Zakinthos

We were picked up by the bus at the hotel at 7.45am and then stopped at several hotels to collect people. Buggies are not allowed on the ship, so I took my stretcher with me for our 1 year old daughter. On the way there and on the way back we made a stop where you could go into the water from the ship. You were allowed to stay for 1 hour at the shipwreck. There is also the opportunity to buy food and drink on board! The shipwreck in Navagio is laid out in such a way that you can get into the water over a bridge and thus it is also possible to get to the beach with a small child. We were back at the hotel around 4.45 p.m. The crew on board was very friendly and it was really beautiful! I would definitely recommend it!

Wonderful outing! We had to postpone the day trip due to the waves being too big. The guide apologized a thousand times when it was not his fault. The next day we had a wonderful afternoon! Everything was perfect according to the program, boat in a small group of 10 people and adorable guides (boat and bus)! Thank you!

it was a amazing experience. We had an opportunity to see turtles, explore the keri caves and enjoy the island. The staff was very kind.
