Benefit from pick-up at your hotel and then journey to one of the most important monuments on the Yucatán Peninsula. Upon arrival at Chichén Itzá, look at the step pyramid of Kukulcan (El Castillo), known for the play of light from the equinox that casts shadows on each step to create an image of a serpent descending. Go to the ancient cenote of Saamal and experience one of the sinkholes that form part of a network of underground rivers sacred to the Maya people. Enjoy a delicious buffet meal and take a stroll around the colonial city of Valladolid to complete your experience.
Der Reiseführer sprach fast nur portugiesisch und kaum und sehr schlecht Englisch. Lediglich Elvis, unsere Führer in Chichen Itza, war top informiert.
Depart Cancun and travel in air-conditioned comfort to the ancient city of Tulum, famous for its breathtaking views of the Caribbean Sea. Explore the remains of the Mayan settlement and take a walk down to the beach. Continue to the pre-Hispanic city of Coba to look at the majestic Nohoch-Mul Temple, one of the tallest structures on the Yucatan Peninsula. Climb to the top of the 138-foot structure to get panoramic views of the surroundings. Learn the amazing history of one of the largest cities built by the Maya civilization. Then, cool down in a sacred cenote before some free time to stroll along 5th Avenue in Playa del Carmen on the way back to Cancun.
It was a really good value. There was so much packed into the day and it ended up being more like 14 hours instead of 11 hours from pick-up to drop-off. We enjoyed each place, but would've liked more time in Coba as it felt a little rushed and it was really nice to cool down a little in the jungle. The food was way better than I expected and it was a highlight for my 10 year old to see a Mayan village. Only improvement needed was the van. There were pieces falling apart inside and we couldnt even see our a window from the back where we were sitting. That said, I would definitely recommend.
Start the tour with pickup from your hotel in Mérida, journey to the amazing Ria Celestun Biosphere Reserve to discover a jewel of the Yucatán Peninsula declared a wildlife refuge in 1979. Explore the primary site for pink flamingos wintering in the northern hemisphere and get up close to the magnificent birds in their natural habitat. Look for some of the other 300 species of native and migratory birds, along with reptiles, mammals and different plants. See large colonies of brilliantly colored flamingos feeding in the estuary, and take a boat ride through the mangrove forest that provides food and shelter for shrimp and other creatures. End with a delicious meal at a beach before the return journey to Mérida to get dropped off at your hotel.
This was an outstanding trip. Our driver and guide Wilbur was excellent. The time for the journey from Merida to Celestun was only about 1 hour and 20 minutes, although we were a little late getting going. The wildlife tour was truly sensational. We saw hundreds of flamingos, many other bird species (our guide pointed out we were especially lucky to see so many), and even two crocodiles. The tour goes through a narrow mangrove forest - quite stunning - insect repellant is important. There is a short hike also and a chance to swim in a spring fed pond. After the wildlife tour, we went to the beach where we had a perfectly reasonable lunch at a restaurant. The beach is very nice and we had plenty of time for a walk and a swim. Mainly due to the wildlife part, this is a great tour. It was pretty expensive compared to other tours we have done in Yucatan but definitely worth it.

I had a great time during this tour and I can definitely recommend it. Guide picked me up near the designated meeting place, but be aware, it usually gets crowded since there are many tour companies departing at the same time. I had to call in the morning to make sure which bus I’m joining. I would request this info in advance next time. My guide was Alan. 5 star guide, funny, spoke great English and engaged with guests. Very knowledgeable too. Tour went smoothly, there was plenty of time to enjoy all activities. Information during the tour was very clear and communicated in advance. Overall a great tour and the one worth taking at least once in your life! Enjoy
Simon was a great guide, very passionate and entertaining. The tour contains a lot of destinations in one day, so you can see a lot of important cultural things. They really have a good time management, although the time in the cenota and in playa del carmen were too short. Maybe the visit of the maya villaga / shamane could be shortened.
An unbeatable experience, the guide mike very attentive and explaining everything correctly, always helping in all doubts, of course appointing the driver román, thank you for your work too.
We had a blast! it was well planned, a lot of fun, and our tour guide Allan was awesome. Will definitely recommend it to all my friends.
I loved the guide Edwin super attentive, more than prepared, very nice and all his very dynamic explanations
