Join an expert local guide on a 3-hour walking tour that takes you around Wroclaw's old town and the historic Ostrow Tumskithe Island, the city's oldest area. Travel back in time to the beginnings of this fascinating city as you enter Cathedral Island (Ostrow Tumski), an island that is the oldest part of Wroclaw. Experience a spiritual place with silent streets, unique 19th-century gas lamps, and monuments from the Middle Ages. See remains of the first castle of the Duke of Piast's dynasty, the Holy Cross Church, and the Dumplings Gate. Admire extraordinary examples of Gothic art at St. John the Baptist's Cathedral, focusing on the religious life of citizens.  Cross the River Odra by the Tumski Bridge, also known as Lover's Bridge, and step into the current city center, which is located on the left bank of the river. From here, walk through the Market Hall and the Ossolinski National Institute with its small, picturesque garden. Stroll through the narrow streets of the Old City and arrive at Wroclaw University, a monumental complex of baroque edifices. Enter the "Old Shambles" medieval meat market and witness how it has transformed today into a corner belonging to local artists with their colorful art galleries and shops with handmade souvenirs.
