Windhoek: City and Township Tour

1. Windhoek: City and Township Tour

After pickup from your accommodation in Windhoek, set off first on the city tour. Look forward to seeing places like the Houses of Parliament-National Assembly, Parliament Gardens, the old railway station, the Namibia Craft Center, Christuskirche (Christ Church), and Alte Feste (Old Fort). Make a stop at the old cemetery in Hochland Park, a highlight for history enthusiasts, too. From the city center, head to the Katutura Township to catch a glimpse of life in Windhoek's largest suburb. Boasting people from a number of different cultural groups, Katutura is the place to be if you want to mix with the lively and varied cultures of Namibia. In Katatura, visit the “Single Quarters,” a local market where you can enjoy a taste of the Namibian specialty Kapana — Namibian beef cooked by the local vendors. Also included is a stop at a local community empowerment project. After the tour, you will be dropped back to your accommodation.

Namibias Best 4 Day Etosha Safari Private Guide Tour

2. Namibias Best 4 Day Etosha Safari Private Guide Tour

Depart from Windhoek and stop briefly at Otjiwarongo to enjoy a light lunch before entering Etosha National Park through the Anderson Gate. Enjoy a game drive across the park visiting waterholes and looking for predators as well as zebra, giraffe, elephants, and rhino. Arrive at your accommodation just before sunset. The accommodation is located inside Etosha National Park and has a floodlit waterhole next to the camp. Rise for a pre-sunrise snack with tea/coffee and then game drive until mid morning when you return to camp for breakfast before heading out for another game drive. Head back to Halali for a picnic lunch. After lunch, you will visit the mighty Etosha Pan (the largest salt pan in Namibia) before game driving across the park in your quest to find the big 4. Visit one last waterhole to worship the African sunset before you head back for a dinner prepared by your guide over the campfire, where you can compare photos and stories of the animals seen today. Have an early morning breakfast before departing for a drive to the communal lands of Damaraland where you will see the communal farmers in this arid region. You stop at the Ugab River bridge to visit with the beautiful Herero ladies who sell their small art and craft items to support their families. Have lunch in the shadow of the Brandberg Mountain and go on a short visit with a Himba group who have moved into this area to sell their jewellery and other items (dependent on Himba tribespeople). After lunch, you head directly through the Namib Desert and stop at the latest shipwreck on the Skeleton Coast before arriving late afternoon in Swakopmund. Explore this seaside town on foot and visit the jetty for sunset. Have dinner locally (own expense). On the last day you can ask to take part in optional additional activities before you return to Windhoek.

From Windhoek: Namib Desert and Etosha National Park Tour

3. From Windhoek: Namib Desert and Etosha National Park Tour

Explore the Namib Desert and Etosha National Park on a multi-day tour adventure from Windhoek with accommodation and meals included. Be impressed by the Sossusvlei dunes, have a mesmerizing experience at the Etosha Pan, and get up-close to animals on exciting game drives. Day 1: Windhoek to Sossusvlei Depart from your Windhoek accommodation in the morning and drive through the surrounding mountains. Pass over the Eros Mountains and through the Khomas Highland region to a grassy desert savannah landscape. Stop at Solitaire for gas and a break before continuing on to your lodging in the southern part of the Namib Desert, near Sossusvlei, for an early afternoon arrival. Be greeted by a glamping-style tent camp, situated on a hillside with breathtaking views across the desert, and also have lunch. Enjoy use of the swimming pool, dining area, and a stocked bar during your stay. Explore the area around the camp before sunset, when the colors glow and change on the distant mountains to the east. Then have dinner served in the lodge. Day 2: Sossusvlei Have an early start to catch the soft light of a desert sunrise. Depart the camp and pass through Sesriem to continue towards Sossusvlei. Watch as the sand dunes rise along both sides of the road and be impressed by towering red dunes, some of which are the highest in the world, over white plains. Stop at the famous Dune 45, a star dune that is over 170 meters tall. Those who feel fit enough to climb the dune will be rewarded with breathtaking views of the surrounding Namibian desert. Afterward, eat breakfast and take a desert walk with the chance to see gemsboks, springboks, black-backed jackals, and ostriches. Visit the Deadvlei, a white clay pan located between orange dunes and dotted with the remains of hundreds of baren camelthorn trees. As the day cools down, take a short excursion to Sesriem Canyon before spending the rest of the day back at camp with lunch and dinner. Day 3: Sossusvlei to Windhoek Have breakfast and make your return from the desert to civilization on scenic roads through the Khomas Highlands. Arrive back in Windhoek in the afternoon where you will be dropped off at your guesthouse (included with the tour). Also, enjoy lunch before having time on your own. Day 4: Windhoek to Etosha National Park (Southside) Your adventure continues with a morning pickup. Leave Windhoek via the B1 road heading north. Delight in a picnic lunch on the way to Etosha National Park. Arrive in the afternoon and enter the south side of Etosha through the Andersson Gate and proceed to your Okaukuejo resort accommodations. Have time to explore your surroundings and enjoy the swimming pool before a late afternoon game drive. After dinner, a visit to the floodlit waterhole is strongly recommended as there is a good chance of seeing rhinos and lions coming to drink. Day 5: Etosha National Park (Eastside) Today, spend most of the day searching for animals, as you make your way through the game reserve towards Namutoni, your next rest camp. Visit a number of waterholes and stop to view the Etosha Pan. Be hypnotized by the expansive salt pan and witness shimmering mirages. Have the chance to see large herds of game in this unique setting. Afterward, stop at Halali to have lunch and continue on to Namutoni. At Namutoni, relax at the swimming pool or waterhole before a late afternoon game drive. Be prepared for an exciting experience with a likelihood of getting up-close views of springboks, zebras, impalas, giraffes, gemsboks, and plenty of birds. You might also see elephants and lions. In the evening unwind with a glass of wine and sunset from the tower of the old Namibian German fort before dinner. Day 6: Etosha National Park to Windhoek After a morning game drive and the opportunity to take some more pictures of Etosha's wildlife in the morning light, head back to Windhoek. On your drive, pass through farmland and small towns. Just before reaching Windhoek, stopover in the small town of Okahandja to visit Namibia's largest wood-carving market. Arrive back in Windhoek in the late afternoon to conclude your tour.

Our guide Petrus got to know us Windhoek in a very pleasant and instructive way. His enthusiasm and his historical knowledge provided us with an unforgettable morning. The visit to Katuturu was also surprisingly pleasant. A top guide to this city!!!

petrus was an excellent guide who made an exciting tour with great joy and enthusiasm. he knew a lot about the history of the country and stopping to eat at a market in the township was an experience

Windhoek doesn't have that many highlights, but our wonderful guide by the name of Rüdiger, Sebastian Meyer, showed us a lot of great and contradictory things.
