From Tel Aviv: Jerusalem Biblical Full-Day Tour

1. From Tel Aviv: Jerusalem Biblical Full-Day Tour

Begin your tour of Biblical Jerusalem with a bird’s eye view across the city from the Mount of Olives. From here you can see beyond the Old City walls to Temple Mount and the Dome of the Rock. Then drive down the mount, passing an ancient Jewish cemetery, the Biblical Garden of Gethsemane, the stunning Church of All Nations and the Kidron Valley where monumental Jewish tombs have stood for centuries. As you approach the Old City, you'll pass the Dormition Church and arrive on Mount Zion. In Jerusalem, visit the Room of the Last Supper where Christ ate with his Apostles on the eve of his crucifixion. This room is also called the Upper Room as it is on a floor over the site of King David’s Tomb. Then enter the Old City Armenian Quarter via the Zion Gate and pass the Armenian Church of St. James. Your tour guide will tell you about the fascinating Armenian culture, before you move on to the Jewish Quarter. Here the tour pauses at the Byzantine-era Cardo. This excavated, 1,500-year-old street was once Jerusalem’s main thoroughfare. In the Jewish Quarter you'll stop to see the sacred Western Wall. As the last surviving part of the Second Jewish Temple, the Western Wall is the holiest Jewish landmark in the world. Here you'll join others who come to place a prayer note in the crevices of the ancient wall. Then, retrace the course Jesus took as he carried his cross to Calvary along the Via Dolorosa. You'll arrive at the sacred Holy Sepulchre. This 4th century church holds the last few Stations of the Cross including Calvary where Jesus was crucified and his burial tomb. The vast structure is shared by several Christian denominations and has more than 30 chapels. Then, conclude your tour with a little retail therapy in the traditional Old City bazaar before the trip back to your hotel.

What people are saying about Western Wall

A terrific tour with plenty of time to enjoy the wonderful Historic and religious sites of Jerusalem and Bethlehem. An absolute must-do tour if time is short when visiting the Holy Land. Apart from the relatively short drive from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, the majority of the time is spent following a very knowledgeable guide. To meet the agreement requirements between Israel and Palestine, a switch in vehicles and guides is required, but don’t worry, it is seamless and well coordinated. The driver, tour bus and guide in Bethlehem are equally skilled and conversant. A 5-star tour!

David Ringler is an awesome guide. With a group of 7 friends, we needed to leave a little later, no issue. The program was very fluid, adjusting to our needs. He is very upbeat and knowledgeable, speaks 7 languages and is very sociable. Even though no food/beverages were included, he bought water, beer, shisha... He will make sure the car is cool when you get back. He will get you to the quiet beach at the Dead Sea. Make sure to carve ample of time out, his stories might take a little longer than you've planned time for! :-)

Our tour included Jerusalem with the Dead Sea. Collecting and organizing went perfectly and without any problems. We particularly liked the trip in the "Van" and not in our guide Adi gave us the best information about the chapters available in the short amount of time in historical, social and current time topics. Here again a big thank you to Adi Wagner.

We (6 people around the age of 50) did a tour of Bethlehem and Jerusalem for over 9 hours and we never got bored for a minute. Raffi Burger, our tour guide did a sensational job and we can warmly recommend it - very big cinema!

Very well organized excursion with a brilliant guide. Thanks to our guide, we were even lucky enough to get into the birth grotto in Bethlehem, which is usually very difficult. Lunch was also good value for money.
