It was a very enjoyable evening with a great performance in a beautiful venue. We went as a family and even the young children enjoyed the occasion. We were worried before hand that we didn't have black tie but when we got there, we realised that almost nobody was wearing black tie as it said on the website.

Overall just a fun experience. Not for somebody looking for a philharmonic formal black tie affair. At one point, we were even encouraged as the audience to clap along. I think the experience is best described as fun and meant to be enjoyed actively for all listeners.

The setting is wonderful and the orchestra were excellent, including the soloists. Although I am not a great fan of opera the two opera singers were very good and the combination of orchestral music interweaved with opera arias was most enjoyable. The evening passed very quickly and the encores were also very well done. No need to wear a dinner jacket as no one else seemed to be doing so (it was written as necessary on the getyourguide website info).
