Full description
See the sights of Verona on a 2-hour walking tour with a private guide and marvel at monuments from different periods of the city's rich history. Marvel at the monumental Roman amphitheater on Piazza Brà, built in the 1st century AD and still in use today. Stroll down to the River Adige to see the medieval fortress of the Castelvecchio and historic Ponte Scaligero (Castelvecchio Bridge). Pass through the 3rd-century Porta Borsari archway that formed part of the original Roman walls. Continue along the Corso to Piazza Erbe at the heart of the Roman city and soak up the lively atmosphere. See the historical Café Dante on Piazza dei Signori and admire the medieval Palazzi Scaligeri where the Scaliger Tombs commemorate the family that ruled Verona from the 13th to the late 14th century. Continue down a narrow alleyway to stand in front of the house and balcony where Romeo declared his love for Juliet, according to the tale by Shakespeare!
