    Join this small-group walking tour of Venice's city center. Learn more about the city's most popular attractions and how to navigate through the maze of canals. Starting from the Rialto Bridge, head to a rooftop terrace where you can admire panoramic views of the picturesque Grand Canal. Stroll through the city's streets and squares to reach Piazza San Marco where you will learn more about the magnificent St Mark's Basilica during a guided tour. Then, hop on a gondola for a 1.5-hour ride through the city's canals. Stop at Doge's Palace where you will skip the long lines of tourists for a fast-track guided tour. Head up to the palace's terrace where you can admire Piazza San Marco from above. Inside the palace, learn more about Venice's most famous painters before heading to the prisons to learn more about the Serenissima Republic of Venice.

    Important information

    Know before you go

    • This tour runs with a minimum of 2 participants
    • St. Mark's Basilica may be subject to closure for liturgical celebrations, in which case the explanation will take place outside
    • St. Mark's Basilica and the Palace may be closed to the public during high tides, in which case an alternative will be arranged
    • In case of heavy rain and high tides, gondola rides are not available and an alternative will be provided
    • From November 3rd to March 31st, skip-the-line access to St. Mark's Basilica is not available, but lines are short
    • Please remember that you have to follow a precise dress code for the Basilica entrance: shoulders, knees and thighs need to be covered so please avoid short dresses, tank tops, shorts and hats (for men). You are not allowed to enter with large bags, animals, weapons, lighters and scissors.

    Since there were only two of us, we had a private tour, so to speak. Lara was the perfect guide. She showed us her Venice - authentic, competent, entertaining. We can highly recommend an English-speaking tour with Lara, because she is Venetian and speaks very easy to understand English. Of course, the tour is quite intensive, including the Doge's Palace, St. Mark's Basilica and a gondola ride, but you get to know more than just the touristy Venice.

    We were lucky enough to make the visit in two being able to fully enjoy the professionalism and availability of the guide Gabriella Venezia who made us discover often unexplored places during the common tours around the city. Extremely interesting and never boring guided tour of the Doge's Palace and the Basilica. The gondola ride is a pleasant break between the city tour and the afternoon visits.     Our tour guide was Isabella and she was amazing! She had soooo much knowledge of Venice and was able to share so many things I never knew. The price is also very worth it. We started at the 10am and finished at 4:30pm. I think it might have lasted a little longer if we didn’t have a tour already scheduled for 5pm. What I loved most was you’re not getting just a tour of the famous Doge’s Palace and St. Mark’s. You get a tour of Venice streets and areas in which not a lot of tourists naturally explore. I highly recommend this activity and can promise you won’t be disappointed if you have Isabella.
