The tour takes place at a Murano glass factory on St. Mark's Square in central Venice, where you will be told about the origins of glass blowing, and learn how Murano became the center of glass-making when the Venetian Republic ordered all the foundries relocate to protect the wooden buildings of the main city from catching fire. Murano glassmakers became the most important citizens of Venice, and throughout the ages they refined their techniques thanks to trading between the Venetian Republic and the countries of the Middle and Far East. You will admire a master glass blower at work while using traditional techniques to create marvelous glass items.
