Full description
Discover the real soul of Venice admiring one of the most famous squares in the world: San Marco. Your guide will narrate the endless history of the monuments at the Doge’s Palace, where the Doge and the highest politicians lived and decided the faith of the ancient republic. Be stunned in front of the Basilica and listen to the reason why it is known as the Golden Church.  Go through the labyrinth of Calli and Campi, the narrow Venetian streets and squares. Find some hidden artistic jewels as Santa Maria Formosa Square or the imposing SS. Giovanni and Paolo Church with a spectacular façade, which is known as the Pantheon of Venice. See the Malibran Theatre, which was the house of the legendary Marco Polo.  Climb to the Rialto Bridge, the symbol of the city, to see the traditional markets. These were once the center of the commercial market of Europe. Take the opportunity to visit a Glass Factory close to Saint Mark’s Square, where you can see a Glass Craftsman at work. This is a free of charge option for approximately 20 minutes.

The tour with our guide Marie-Therese was really great - can only be recommended! We learned a lot about the history of Venice and small, funny background stories. The tour was very entertaining and interesting. With Marie-Therese we were able to discover Venice off the beaten track. Exciting from start to finish!

I enjoyed the route and was very impressed with the guide who was knowledgeable and entertaining. In fact I am full of admiration for her as she must have been under enormous pressure as Getyour Guide put us in a tour together with German speakers so half the time we couldnt understand anything. To be honest,I think this was ridiculous and if it hadn't been for our excellent guide I would have demanded my money back.I am annoyed that we were not informed of this arrangement beforehand.Standing around waiting while the tour was done in a language we could not understand ruined what would have been a perfect tour.I am sure the German participants suffered too.

Guide Elena did a great job. Although the tour was in English, we had booked it in German, it was a great experience and easy to understand. She told many interesting details about Venice that one did not know even after a 3-day stay. You can therefore do your tour on your last day in Venice. It was very varied and the time flew by.
