We signed up for a tour that could include up to 20 people, and were pleasantly surprised when it was just the two of us with a guide. She was obviously very knowledgable about the artwork within the museums, and directed us to some of the most important pieces. We spent quite a bit of time outside the museums getting an orientation of sorts, especially regarding the Sistine Chapel since she would not be able to talk to us in there. In retrospect, we would have preferred to have spent that time actually in the museums. And this is no reflection on the guide -- but I'll say that the museums were much more crowded at night than various blogs had indicated they might be. The Sistine Chapel was especially crowded and loud, which was disappointing. Still, we were glad to have chosen a guide for the experience.

The guide, Oksana, was very knowledgeable, attentive and engaging. We greatly valued her. The Vatican museums are huge and the art is invaluable. The history truly comes alive. The museum was at some parts more crowded that we would have hoped for; being ”after hiurs access”. Its also good to know there is no air con at the museum and it gets really hot when the weather is as hot as it was now (30+ degrees even late at night).

Alberto was so passionate that he transferred his love for art to us. In addition, he is a very good listener and very attentive. On top, he has a very large culture that helps us to better understand the museum and the incredible stuffs that are stored inside. It was really a trip in history with a super guide. thanks a lot Alberto
