Hike to the top of Europe's tallest active volcano with a volcanologist guide. Discover the views from the summit craters, explore a lava tunnel and the Valle del Bove. Meet your guide at the local partner's office opposite the station of the southern Etna cableway. From the top of the cable car you will cross lunar landscapes aboard a 4x4 up to an altitude of 2850-meters in the Torre del Filosofo area. Begin your trek until we reach the edge of the Bocca Nuova (3300-meters) a crater which opened in 1968, one of the most impressive in the area. Stroll to the top and enjoy 360° panoramas and, if the weather permits, see as far as the Aeolian Islands and almost all of northern Sicily. Descend from the summit craters and pass through the craters of the 2002 eruption, then walk inside a lava tunnel and admire the volcanic amphitheater of the Valle del Bove, a spectacular caldera 8 km long and 4 km wide. Trekking to the summit craters that will allow us to discover the wild northern slope of Etna.The departure will be from Piano Provenzana(1800mt) by 4x4 vehicle to Piano delle Concazza(2800mt). From here we will begin our trekking, which will take about 1.5 hours of walking in a volcanic desert with a view sweeping from the Aeolian Islands to the Gulf of Taormina, and will take us to the rim of the Central Crater, where we will be able to feel the volcano's breath and admire the deep crater depression and its colourful sulphur sublimates. Our tour will continue to the summit area to admire the Bocca Nuova, the South-East crater from a safe distance, and the North-East crater. The descent will be along steep, fun volcanic sand gullies that will take us to Pizzi Deneri where we can admire the volcanic amphitheatre of Valle del Bove, a spectacular caldera 8 km long and 4 km wide. After a lunch break, we will continue downhill along the Quarantore gullies with a splendid view of the 2002 eruptive fracture through a path rich in plant species endemic to Etna. We will end our trek in Piano Provenzana. Ride a cable car and will climb up to about 3,000 meters of altitude accompanied by a volcanological guide. Receive high-quality trekking gear including warm clothes, boots, and crampons. Departing from Rifugio Sapienza, take a cable car up to an altitude of 2,500 meters. From there, start the trek to about 3,000 meters. The presence of ice and snow makes this excursion an activity a fun challenge for experienced hikers. Walk through long stretches of snow and visit the cone from the eruption of 2001, the Valle del Bove, and the Barbagallo craters. Admire the summit crater of Etna from a safe distance before starting the trek back. Excellent tour riding safely off road with Land Rover . Fabrizio is great guide, took us to amazing places; volcano desert, 4 level secret cave, caldera and many interesting places where other tour guides will not take you without 4x4. Very safe tour, good for kids and older people. Worth money !!!

Hiking tour - it was not usual touristic hike, and it was amazing! If you ready to put some effort to see amazing views, hear interesting facts, enjoy tasty sandwich for 3 euros with an amazing view - this your is for you!
