This is the perfect tour for those who love walking and being outdoors. Departing at 2:30 PM, transfer to the Valle de Tierra Mayor, the starting point for this medium intensity walk to visit the Emerald Lagoon. The difficulty is defined by the type of terrain and not by the slope.  This route will take you through a forest and then through a peat zone, which can be very wet. The lagoon is incredibly beautiful and so are the mountains that surround it. Start the day with a pickup from your hotel around 8 AM and head for the Tierra del Fuego National Park where you’ll visit the most relevant sites with priority given to the natural attractions away from the tourist-dense locations. Walk some short, low-difficulty trails and make the most of your time with some expert information from your guide with lots of attention to detail. See all of the most popular panoramic points of interest within the national park, and visit Ensenada Bay, Cormorant Archipelago and, of course, Lapataia Bay, the end of all roads in South America. You’ll also see the rivers and lagoons within the national park, including Acigami Lake where lunch will be served in a quiet environment accompanied by drinks. Savor the food, company, and surroundings before returning back to the city around 2:30 PM.

Really enjoyable half day tour. Pick up on time. Very friendly guides. Nice easy walks in the park, all at a gentle pace. Guide was informative. Lovely scenery. I thought the lunchtime food was ok, husband really enjoyed it. The wine flowed. It was a great trip in the Tierra del Fuego.

  • Full Day Trekking to Emerald Lagoon with Lunch

    8. Full Day Trekking to Emerald Lagoon with Lunch

Be collected at your accommodation in a minivan and start your adventure with up to 18 other people. Spend 1-hour on a scenic drive through Lengas and Cohiues, the ancient trees of Fueguian forests, then reach the welcoming refuge.  Once inside Tierra del Fuego National Park begin your 2.5-hour trek to the Emerald Lagoon. This is a moderately difficult trek over 7 miles with 700 feet of uneven terrain, which leads you across streams and through dense forests until reaching the lagoon. This beautiful spot is hidden between immense snow-capped mountains. It is an excellent place for spotting foxes, condors, and beavers. Marvel at the turquoise water while you take a 45-minute break to enjoy a delicious packed lunch. After lunch, enjoy the 1.5-hour trek to return to the refuge where you will be picked up and driven back to Ushuaia.

It's a long trek ( if you are not a trekker) and requires waterproof boots, most of the trek is on damp and Marsh soli. The alternative you are offered of cheap rubber boots is not very good. The ones my wife used were ruptured and they don't give you a good support. You will need trekking poles, but they are provided by the operator. Other than these operating issues it was very nice trek with very beautiful scenary.

Our guide was very dynamic. The boat being small the group is of reasonable size, it does not make mass tourism. The cruise will be a great memory.
