Things to do in Piet Hein Eek
Want to see some beautiful creations made of… scrap wood? Renowned artist Piet Hein Eek’s furniture design studio is the best place to immerse yourselves in his collection.
From a modest scrap wood cabinet after graduating from Eindhoven’s Design Academy, success came and he started his own design studio. In 2010, his company found a new place for the studio in an old Philips ceramic factory in the new creative Strijp-S district.
Walk around the showroom with Piet Hein Eek’s unique designs, inspired by his collecting of old materials and saving discarded pieces of wood. In the design shop, you'll also find other pieces from other designers from bicycles to lamps! Will you find anything to add to your baskets?
Dine in the restaurant and enjoy local handmade food while sitting among Piet Hein Eek’s furniture! Head up to the rooftop bar, located in the elevator room of the former Philip’s workshop, and enjoy a drink. There is an impressive big corner window where you can admire impressive views of Eindhoven from above. If you don’t want the experience to end, the hotel is an extension of the showroom with thirteen rooms, each designed by a different artist.
