The site of Ile aux Phares is where, as the name suggests, an old lighthouse dating back more than 200 years stands, now declared a historical monument. In 1810, Ile aux Phares and Ile de la Passe were the theater of a battle between the French and the British, known as the naval battle of Grand Port, which is the only victory of the Napoleonic Navy and is also listed on the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. In addition to the historic aspect of the islands, you will be made privy to a striking sight within the water. The contrast between both sides of the island is breathtaking: on one side you will find the lagoon turquoise and calm, and on the other, the big waves of the Indian Ocean smash against the breakers of the island. You will then go to Ile aux Aigrettes for a swim then back to Ile aux Cerfs, where lunch will be served. Relax and sunbathe or just chill out on the beach or in the crystal clear water of Ile aux Cerfs before returning to the meeting point in Trou d'Eau Douce.

Meet your guide at the central meeting point in Trou d'Eau Douce. Receive a short briefing on the day's itinerary and make your way to the jetty. Depart at 9:30 AM and sail towards Ile aux Cerfs. Upon arrival at the island at approximately 11:00 AM, stop for some snorkeling in a beautiful lagoon, where you can explore the vibrant underwater world. Enjoy a delicious barbeque lunch, with drinks and live Sega music on board. After lunch, head to Grande Rivière South East waterfall. Admire the beauty of this tranquil location, and enjoy a refreshing swim in the natural pools. Then, return to the jetty in Trou d’Eau Douce at approximately 4:00 PM.

From Trou d’Eau Douce bay, board your catamaran and spend an amazing day on the privately owned island of Île aux Cerfs. Soak up the warm tropical sun while enjoying snorkelling, a delicious Barbeque and stunning scenery. Take a ferryboat to see the Grand River Southeast Waterfalls.  After departing in the catamaran, the cruise will head along the shore towards the Grand River where you can travel by small speed boats 500m upstream to see the Waterfalls.  The next stop on the day cruise will offer a chance to snorkel inside the lagoon and see underwater marine life and swim with brightly colored tropical fish and striking corals.  After snorkeling, the catamaran will head in the direction of Ile Aux Cerfs Island but will make a stop close to the main beach allowing a delicious barbeque lunch and drinks to be served onboard the catamaran while you enjoy stunning views across to the island.  While the catamaran is anchored, relax and explore the paradise island at your leisure, soak up the warm tropical sun and see the luscious island vegetation.  The catamaran will then return you to Trou D’eau Douce where you began your day.
