Full description

Experience the magical winter landscape and the fun of snowmobiling during this wilderness adventure trip starting from Tromsø. Recieve warm clothes and a practical demonstration before setting off on your adventure through the mountains and snow.

Your experience starts with a 75-minute scenic drive from Tromsø, to the wilderness center, Camp Tamok. Upon arrival, you'll be provided with warm clothes and shoes for the day. In the equipment room, you can also leave anything you don’t need on the tour.

You'll get started with a thorough safety introduction and practical demonstration. You do not need any previous experience to drive a snowmobile, but you need to be physically fit.  You will drive in pairs with one driver and one passenger on each snowmobile. You will have the opportunity to switch places during the trip. On the tour, you'll discover scenic mountains and the dramatic snow-covered Finn valley.

Start at 250 meters above sea level and climb up to 900 meters above sea level. The trail is 15 kilometers each way and you will be on the snowmobile for approximately 2 to 2.5 hours. Due to the dramatic topography, you'll drive at a reduced speed during parts of the tour.

The highest point of the trail is on the ice-covered Lake Finn, where you can speed up and get your adrenaline pumping. If time and weather permits, you can try some ice fishing on the lake, too.

Great experience

Well organized, although the weather conditions were bad and the bus trip took about 2 hours longer than planned due to the blocked roads. However, we were informed in advance and had the option to withdraw in return for a full refund. Very good equipment and good guides made it possible to have a great experience with the snowmobile despite the difficult conditions.
