Your guide will tell stories along the way and explain the phenomenon. Once you see the northern lights, your guide will take portraits of you free of charge. If you choose to take your own photos, your guide will show you how to photograph the northern lights. Did not exactly know whether a tour with a big bus like this, or a tour with a smaller minivan was the best choice. However, this tour turned out to be great, very convenient bus (was a little challenge to find the right bus since there are many different companies departing from the same parking place), they go through big efforts to find nice spots to see the northern light and they make sure to make pictures with you and the northern light and post them on their website for easy access. They do not provide thermal suits, but the bus stays warm even when everyone is outside watching the northern light, so it is easy to warm up again if it is too cold. The only negative was that the advertised wifi in the bus was not available since they were out of data.

We were lucky enough to see some lights, not too strong, but I took a lot of amazing pictures with my camera. I had a lot of fun, but as I observed those who didn’t have professional cameras weren’t very impressed. This is the main disadvantage, that seeing northern lights is not guaranteed. This of course something the guides can’t control. I would definitely recommend this tour, the guides were professional, polite and knowledgeable. They even took a lot of professional pictures of us. The aurora lasted about 2,5 hours, and after that they still wanted to stop at other places to see if there’s any.

Unfortunately it was totally cloudy and despite a 2.5 hour drive to the Finnish border there was nothing to see. The next day you could take part in the tour again at half price (by the way, this only applies to adults, the reduced price for children has to be paid in full again). The weather played along and left gaps in the cloud cover. It was great! However, one should not expect too much when it comes to support with the photo settings etc., the tour guides do not have much time when the bus is full and are usually not professionals. -> better inform yourself beforehand!
