Full description

Combine a dog sledding adventure followed by a guided visit to the magical Tromsø Ice Domes. Set among high mountains in the beautiful Tamok Valley, the Tromsø Ice Domes are built every year as the Polar Night approaches. For this tour, you will be picked up from the city center of Tromsø, from which you will be taken to the wilderness center in Camp Tamok. Upon arrival at Tromsø Ice Domes, receive warm winter clothing and learn how to steer the dog sled.

Dog sledding with the Alaskan huskies is an active experience. The sled team consists of two and two people on one sled sharing a team of huskies. Teamwork is essential in dog sledding and together with the team, you will help to push on parts of the tour. After the dog sledding, visit the Ice Domes where the ice bar, cinema, and suites have themes ranging from local Sami culture to the Northern Lights conveyed through beautiful colored lighting and wonderful ice sculptures.

Join a guided tour and learn about the construction process of the ice hotel and the impact the snow has on the survival of Arctic animals. There will be time to walk around freely and ask questions to the experienced guide. You will be able to purchase other drinks at the ice restaurant or ice bar. During this combination tour, you will get a chance to visit a small herd of reindeer near the Ice Domes for reindeer feeding.

It was very well organized and was a lot of fun, but if you drive yourself, you should be in good shape! But it is an indescribably great experience and we would do it again and again! The ice hotel and the whole camp were also worth seeing. We recommend!!!

After we left Tromsö in a light drizzle, the day turned into an unforgettable experience. Camp Tamok was beautifully situated in the mountains. After a short briefing, we were off. The dogs could hardly be tamed. In the course of the tour, people and animals were completely relaxed. Back in the camp there was soup and tea or coffee in the heated lavvu. The people in the camp were all very friendly and in a good mood. The visit to the Ice Dome rounded off this great day.

We had an absolutely amazing time! The husky sled ride was really an experience (but you should be fit because you have to drive the sled yourself). After that we had enough time with the dogs and their trainers, who told us a lot and answered all our questions (thanks!). The food was good and very nice to sit in the hut. The ICE Domes are interesting to see. But all in all, the huskies were our highlight! Such well-trained dogs who were happy about every stroke. We will definitely come back on our next trip to Norway!
