Did not exactly know whether a tour with a big bus like this, or a tour with a smaller minivan was the best choice. However, this tour turned out to be great, very convenient bus (was a little challenge to find the right bus since there are many different companies departing from the same parking place), they go through big efforts to find nice spots to see the northern light and they make sure to make pictures with you and the northern light and post them on their website for easy access. They do not provide thermal suits, but the bus stays warm even when everyone is outside watching the northern light, so it is easy to warm up again if it is too cold. The only negative was that the advertised wifi in the bus was not available since they were out of data.
Our 2 guides were incredible! They spoke fluent English and explained the phenomenon to us as we drove. We drove hours to find the perfect spot for lights and supposed hot chocolate while we waited. They showed fairly quickly and our guides took amazing photos of everyone with the lights. As we were driving back, they spotted the lights again so we stopped and saw an even more spectacular show with the lights dancing in a variety of colors. It was nice to stop this second time even though we were technically out of time on the tour.
Great experience, the weather in Tromso wasn't good but we drove a couple of hours to Finland and found a spot with clear sky. The guides were competent and took us to the right place, where we could see the Northern Lights. We kept warm with a fire and hot chocolate, and overall it was well organised.
Guides were knowledgeable, took us to the right spots, we could see aurora and they also helped us to take good photos. Overall http://destinationtromso.com/ is really good service provider and would recommend everyone to take their trip. It’s a 5 -star rating for the experience.
Great trip, we are so glad we did it. A wonderful way to see the northern lights.
