Watch magnificent humpback whales and orcas feed on shoals of herring when they migrate to Skjervoy between November and January. Enjoy a scenic panoramic drive from Tromso to Skjervoy, then hop into a rigid-inflatable boat (RIB) for a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Meet at the Scandic Ishavshotel in Tromso bright and early. From here, drive for 3.5 hours to Skjervoy to meet your guide. Once in Skjervoy, receive a warm flotation suit before getting into the RIB. Then, set off on a 2.5-hour whale watching excursion in the Kvaenangen Fjord. Marvel at the natural scenery and keep your eyes peeled for orcas and humpback whales, as well as other local wildlife. What an amazing experience. We saw many Orcas and ine humbpack whale and stayed a little longer in the fjords than expected due to the active whales. Your guides are definitely experts. They tell you anything you need to know and answer all the questions you need to be answered. For those who said that the guides seemed to be rude - this tour has a strict timeliness because of the changing weather and for the short amount of daylight. They are definitely not rude - they instruct you to follow the rules to get the best experience needed. You get all the equipment needed but I advise you to bring warm and weather resistant clothes with you. The Bus tour to the destination is comfort and in the end you get some warm drinks, cookies and a tasty sandwich.

Considering that we booked the tour at the end of the season in January, we were able to see great orcas and whales. The tour was well organized overall, only the employee who handed out the suits wouldn't have hurt a smile and after the tour we had less than 10 minutes to eat the baguette in peace because we shouldn't miss the ferry. But otherwise really great and recommendable. Our guide was great and funny.

The experience was good. I saw orcas and whales and it was very emotional. I appreciated the respect our guide had for those animals. I hope all the other companies and guides do the same. The only thing that disappointed me is that there were no vegan options when you served snacks and meals. Climate change and mass extinction are real and plant-based food is an important solution. Look at the future and innovate your food to be more aligned with great values.
