We booked this trip mainly because of the landscape. In winter we did not expect seeing whales or eagles. The guide arrived later and we had to find the boat ourselves in a very slippery road. After that, we enjoyed the stories, the view and the chat with other people. The lunch came very late. If you are like me, carry something to eat. The soup was delicious and for people who like cookies, they provided very nice ones.

The captain and crew were engaging and created a unique experience in boating right up to the frozen section of the fjord. It was really fun (but freezing) sailing through the layer of mist in the fjord. The eagles and gulls came by to keep us company for awhile. The best part was fishing for our lunch and it was such a bonus with the two cod we caught. The fish soup lunch was delicious, and the crew also took good care of the vegetarians and lactose intolerent amongst us. Oh and the endless supply of cookies on board. Ohhhh those cookies were so good.

We participated in this experience in two couples of friends on December 31st. The day was enjoyable, but I wouldn't recommend it to others who are up north for "one-of-a-kind" experiences. The fishing test was not long enough to allow everyone to try it, furthermore the description of the experience suggests that different specimens of fauna could be spotted, including those that stop on the coast... instead you always travel far from it and the only animals we could see were some birds including a sea eagle. I would recommend the trip to anyone who wants to relax in a warm and comfortable boat eating delicious biscuits but without expecting to see anything but the crazy landscape of snow-capped mountains meeting the sea. The crew is amazing and made us some yummy food!
