Full description

Go in search of the magnificent Northern Lights on a guided photography tour by a custom-built 4x4 van. Discover remote scenery within the Arctic Circle as you try to capture this spectacular natural phenomenon. Meet in central Tromsø and set out into the wilderness in search of the Northern Lights. Upon reaching suitable skies, set up camp for the evening. Most of the time this is a shorter drive to the surrounding coastal islands of Tromsø, or if needed, a longer drive into Finland.

Some nights the Northern Lights are visible en route to the camp location, and can last throughout the evening. Other nights require patience and positivity, for you to witness a faint glow across the horizon. Enjoy the serene surroundings of the camp in warm thermal clothing. Gather around the roaring campfire, and enjoy a hearty homemade organic soup, cookies, and hot beverages with your fellow travelers. You guide will help you capture vibrant moments of you and the Aurora. If you choose to bring your own camera they can offer help and advice on how to get the most out of your photographs. All images will be shared with you the very next day after your excursion.

Michael, our guide, was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Although it was cloudy he found a valley which had some clear skies. The lights appeared and did not disappoint, truly magical! Michael helped me with camera settings too, so I got some photos to help remember the evening. Great trip and would definitely recommend.

Just MAGICAL in every way! Our guide was George and he was fantastic from the beginning till the end. very informative about the northern lights, giving us all of the details, friendly and helpful for everything we needed. We found an amazing spot after a few tries, since was cloudy at the beginning, and then the magic happened. George set up a fire and enjoyed some coffee/tea, homemade soup and wonderful chat with the whole group (7 total, its a small group tour).

George is an amazing guide! He told us legends various people attribute the Northern Lights to and then explained the science in simple but accurate terms. He kept us all comfortable with foot warmers, hand warmers, a fire before and after the lights came out, warm tea, cookies, and soup. His photos were amazing too, and I can’t wait to see them. 10 / 10 recommend!
