Full description
In small groups with a maximum of 15 people, hunt down the Northern Lights with a local guide well-trained in tracking this natural phenomenon.
A combination of analysis of the weather and communication with other guides before your tour starts will ensure you stand the best chance of attaining the clearest view of one of the most stunning natural occurrences on the planet. After establishing the group in a good spot, your guide will take professional photos on their camera. They are also available to help any group members set up their cameras in the best possible way to capture the Northern Lights.
Your guide will stay with you for the entire evening while making sure you are as comfortable and warm as possible. Thermal suits and warm, dry boots are provided for the entire duration of the tour. Later in the evening, a bonfire will be made, and you will have a warm meal, roast marshmallows, and enjoy hot drinks by the fire. If you are a vegetarian or have any other dietary preferences, please inform the local supplier, and they will make sure there is something for you as well.
Before & after the tour: before the tour takes off you will meet up at the local supplier's base camp in central Tromsø for a briefing and introduction to the area you will explore, as well as the Northern Lights forecast for the evening. The minibus picks you up outside the building so there is no need to walk far or get cold on the way. After the tour you have just a short walk back to your hotel (recommended hotels are only located a few hundred meters from the base camp in central Tromsø).
