Polaria is an Arctic Experience Centre for the whole family and one of two places in Europe where you can see bearded seals up close. See, feel, experience and understand why life in the sea and life on land depend on each other. Our interactive exhibitions showcase climate- and environmental research done in the Arctic. The aquarium holds a variety of arctic fish and crustations, as well as four seals; two bearded seals and two harbour seals. There are three different panoramic: - "Svalbard - Arctic Wilderness" (Duration: 14 minutes) - "Northern Lights - A Wonderous Experience" (Duration: 9 minutes) - "Behind the Scenes" (Duration: 11 minutes) The feeding and training sessions happen three times a day, at 10:30, 12:30 and 15:30 The ticket is valid all day, meaning it is possible to leave and come back if you miss a screening or a training session.

On certain days we offer a second city tour at 13:45. Don't miss the opportunity to discover the old town of Tromsø with an experienced German speaking guide. Our experienced guides will meet you at exactly 13:45 in front of our offices at Storgata 77, Tromsø; From here you will go on a 20-30 minute guided walk along the pier. After this short walk, the group will reach the unique Polar Museum and Skansen district, where you will see the oldest buildings in the city. The tour continues with a 30-minute guided walk along Storgata (the pedestrian street), the Market Square, the Catholic and Protestant Cathedrals and the Mack Brewery. After this second city tour, the group will reach the Polstjerna; one of the last ships that hunted seals in the Arctic Ocean until 1981. Around 16:15 our tour ends and you can choose to enter the Polaria Aquarium right next to the ship (entrance not included) or walk back to the center.
