If you are interested in a folklore of two fisherman brothers who happened to have become founding fathers of Sesoji-temple 1400 years ago and Asakusa for that matter, this tour is for you. Enjoy the tour chock-full of interesting stories around development of Asakusa and Tokyo. Specifically, we will demystify intriguing historical facts including: 1) Why Sumida river is an origin of Senso-ji temple 2) How Senso-ji temple and Asakusa developed hand in hand 3) How Asakusa has become a forerunner of Japan's modernization 4) How the culture that flourished in the area impacted the world Other important features of the tour are: 1) Use of headsets to hear the guide clearly even from a distance; applicable to a group of 3 or more. 2) Tasting Japanese sweet snacks just made in the back the shops. 3) Each group is limited to 8 participants.

Meet in front of the Burger King restaurant in Asakusa Azumabashi. There two transportation means to get there. 1) Best way Exit 4 of Asakusa subway station (G19) on the Ginza line. climb the stairs to reach the ground. Right next to the subway exit, you will see the Burger King restaurant. 2) Alternative If you take Toei Asakusa line, get off at the Asakusa station (A18); please use the exit A5 and turn left on the ground. You will find Burger King across the street shortly. Your guide will be holding a sign that says Arumachi.

The tour was awesome. We had Yoko as a tour guide and she was so sweet and knowledgeable (and spoke good English!). We wanted a day experiencing “authentic” Tokyo and this was exactly it. It was easy to get to from Shinjuku and easy to find Yoko. We ended up staying in Asakusa the rest of the evening for dinner and then made our way back to Shinjuku. Perfect day tour that I will be recommending to friends traveling to Tokyo.

Terrific. Yoko was an extremely friendly lady who gave me a better understanding of the district's history and religious background. She also explained to me typical desserts that we tried, showed me beautiful viewpoints and was flexible in responding to every request. She was a very great guide. I would book them again in a heartbeat.

A very instructive tour , and fantastic experience . Not only we learned so much historical facts as our guide Taka was so knowledgeable , but we were also given a lovely tour of the area from alongside the river , taken for an amazing view at the top of the contemporary information building ( The design and architecture of it in itself very interesting ) . This was followed by a tour of very charming and authentic back streets in the vicinity . We learned so much and we were lucky to have Taka for ourselves as he did not have other bookings that morning . A big Origato Kata , you made a memorable moment of our time with you .
