Highlights
  • Explore Tokyo's hidden gem, Hie Shrine
  • See a different side at Yushima-Seido
  • Find out why Kanda-Myojin is not the usual Shinto shrine
Full description
Meeting in Akasaka in front of Hie Shrine. You will explore its environs—a calm and tranquil refuge amidst the bustling city. From there, head to Shin-Ochanomizu and explore a Confucian shrine called Yushima-Seido, its black lacquered wood a stark contrast to the vivid Shinto shrines. Finally, end up at Kanda-Myojin, a colorful Shinto shrine known for its flamboyant architecture. Take a different approach to photography—focus on the details. During this workshop, you will learn to zone in on the small things that together will convey the narrative of the shrines and temples which we will explore. Learn about composition techniques that emphasize the minutiae and capture the true feeling of the place.

We visited three temples/shrine places, very nice, and it was good to get guidance on photography opportunities and also camera settings from a professional photographer, an easy going guy from Australia.
