4. Tivoli: Entrance Ticket to Villa Adriana with Pemcard
Enter the archaeological ruins of the Villa Adriana, a large Roman complex in Tivoli that is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Built by the Emperor Hadrian as a country villa, since he disliked Palatine Hill in Rome, today it is an immense park with many Roman ruins. Discover the remains of more than 30 buildings in the 1-square-kilometer grounds. Much of the area has still not been excavated so you can only imagine what might lie underground! See monuments such as the Maritime Theater, a round portico with a barrel vault supported by pillars. It includes a lounge, library, heated baths, 3 suites with heated floors, washbasin, art gallery, and large fountain. Inside the portico you will find a pool with an artificial island. Immortalize your visit and make your friends or family green with envy by sending them a Pemcard, a digital photo that you can send as a real postcard to anywhere in the world Other highlights include the Canopo, a huge rectangular pool encircled by sculptures, and the artificial grotto of the Serapeum. See artifacts that date back to the time when the villa was built, such as the marble statues of Antinous, Hadrian's deified lover, along with mosaics from the theater and baths.
