Get a feel for the local way of life on the Mekong Delta on a day trip from Ho Chi Minh City to Cai Be. Enjoy a boat ride and a cooking class before lunch. After, either paddle a kayak or ride a bike to explore the area further. After pickup at your hotel, depart Ho Chi Minh and drive to Cai Be. Upon arrival, take some time to explore the town on foot and then board a motorized boat to cruise along the Mekong river to admire the serene scenery. Continue on a small sampan boat to paddle along the small canals and see the locals going about their day. The boat ride offers a unique perspective of the area, and you will see firsthand how locals live and work on the river. The boat takes you to the region’s fruit orchards where you can try some fresh fruits and enjoy the local music performed by the villagers. Next, arrive at a local restaurant and attend a cooking class to prepare some traditional dishes using fresh ingredients sourced from the region for lunch. After lunch, take a rest and relax before hitting the water by using kayaks for a leisurely paddle down the Mekong river. Take your time and soak up the peaceful surroundings. Alternatively, if you don't want to go kayaking, hop on a bike and explore the countryside on two wheels. The bike ride is a great way to get up close and personal with the area’s rural way of life. Our tour guide, Viet, is very professional, engaging and hilarious! He made us feel at ease. The bus felt luxurious and I’m glad it was a small group (<10pax). This was really an adventurous tour. There was a bicycle activity around the local village but my bicycle broke down halfway :( Thankfully Viet switched bikes with me and I continued for the rest of the journey. Kayaking was also another activity but you can’t kayak if there’s low tide. when we got in the water, it started pouring! But that’s beyond the guide and the tour’s control so we headed back to the dock. I really enjoyed the cooking class and rowing boat. Journey from HCM to Cai Be is around 2-2.5 hours, not too bad!

Nice tour to get a sense of the Delta Mekong area if you only have 1 day. Our guide Kang was very enthusiastic to show us around the area he was from, very kind and friendly! This is one of the tours that go the furthest from Ho Chi Minh and it was worth it, less touristy than the closer areas. However, do not expect to see the floating markets of your dreams: unfortunately there is basically no market left anymore after Covid (maybe in further areas, if you can stay overnight).

Lockie from Kim Tours made sure we were entertained and having fun all day! He gave us a history lesson, sang in English, Chinese, and Spanish, and made sure each person had time to get the photos and videos they wanted!Highly recommend! Don't think I could've done this solo

Really fun trip, included cycling through village and kayaking on the river. Mr Fa was a great guide, friendly, good sense of humor and shared a lot of knowledge about Vietnamese culture.

Great trip! The weather didn’t want to cooperate but our guide (Mr. Quỳnh) was amazing and got use some ponchos so we could finish the tour!
