Begin your tour in the Upper Town (Ano Poli) where you’ll visit the Old Monastery of Vlatadon. This unique Byzantine Monastery offers a panoramic view of The Bride of Thermaikos Gulf.  Next, after walking through the picturesque alleys of Ano Poli, reach the Church of Hosios David and admire its idiosyncratic mosaic from the 5th century and remarkable mural paintings. Afterwards, continue on to the church of Saint Nicholas Orphanos, a distinctive building with exceptional mural paintings from the 14th century surrounded by architecture emblematic of the city’s rich history. Make a stop at the glorious Rotunda, one of the city’s most ancient and impressive monuments erected in 300 AC.
