What a wonderful day! Lazaros (our former Olympic alpine skier and now guide!) was full of knowledge and enthusiasm. I very much appreciated him showing us the summit of Mt Olympus peeking up above the clouds on the drive over as the view is not always guaranteed. We walked quickly through the archaelogical site of Dion to fit it into our allocated hour and 45 minutes but still struggled to see everything but this did not take away from our great experience. Straight up to Mt Olympus and the views were breathtaking (shame we weren't able to have a quick photo stop for this). After visiting Agios Dionysios monastery, we walked at a fair pace through the Enipeas gorge, with two beautiful photo stops, working up an appetite for lunch in Litochora. Lazaros made several good suggestions for food and we had the opportunity to have a quick walk around Litochora afterwards. All in all an excellent tour and a great day out. Thank you Lazaros!

Excellent day trip in a minibus. Our guide Iannis was very pleasant and chatty, and very knowledgeable about local history and archaeology. Dion is a sprawling and fascinating site, and the museum was well set-out and interesting – could have done with a bit more time at Dion. The steep and winding drive up Mt Olympus was marred by low clouds, and the rain meant that the half-hour hike was not possible due to mud. However, Iannis improvised brilliantly, and instead, we visited a monastery, and then had a warming lunch in a charming wooden hikers’ refuge, reminiscent of a Nepalese tea-house. Overall, good value for money.

It was a great excursion. Visit to the Dion museum then visit the archaeological site and take a short walk on Mount Olympus (about 20min) to reach a small waterfall. We then visited a monastery which was next door and then made a short stop in Litochoro. Everything was very beautiful but it was a bit of a shame not to take more advantage of Mount Olympus to walk a little. The guide was very friendly but didn't explain much to us.
