London: 3-Hour Secret British Food Tour

1. London: 3-Hour Secret British Food Tour

Firstly, your local London guide takes you to the exciting Borough Market to soak up the atmosphere and eat some English fudges/chocolate. This eating paradise was not even on the tourist foodie radar a few years ago. Still around the market, you will try award winning Cumberland sausages, followed by the best fresh fish and chips in town. Note the difference between "chips" and "French fries!" There is so much to see in the market that your guide will give you 10-20 minutes to look around yourselves, giving you a chance to buy gifts or eat any samples. Your personal guide will explain the history of the market and the surrounding areas including Sir Francis Drake’s Golden Hind, the Shard and Southwark Cathedral. Your tour will continue to a historic pub where you can try the best of British cheeses, served with grapes, fig cakes and chutneys, washed down with real London beers, ales or delicious ciders (or non-alcoholic options). You will also see the world-famous London Bridge and Tower Bridge on the River Thames as well as the Battleship HMS Belfast. Finally, the tour ends with classic desserts, such as cheesecakes, chocolate brownies or sticky toffee puddings, all washed down with a pot of refreshing tea. Oh, and of course there’s a delicious secret dish too!

3-Hour City of London Walking Tour

2. 3-Hour City of London Walking Tour

Meet your guide at 10:00 at your centrally located hotel and set out on an entertaining walking tour of London. Catch a double-decker bus and then walk along cobbled alleyways to reach the Strand and Fleet Street, which was home to Britain’s major newspapers until the 1980s. On this 3-hour tour that’s priced for up to 2 persons you’ll continue on to St. Paul’s Cathedral, the highest point in London for over 1,400 years. Rebuilt after the Great Fire of London, St. Paul's has hosted many notable national events including the wedding of Charles, Prince of Wales, and Lady Diana Spencer. As you walk through London's oldest district, you’ll learn more about the Great Fire that reshaped the city, and hear about the Great Plague that killed a third of London’s population. Cross the Millennium Bridge and visit Borough Market and Southwark Cathedral, and see Golden Hinde II, Sir Francis Drake's famous galleon. Stop near London Bridge station, where you’ll learn how the Tower of London, the 11th-century stronghold of William the Conqueror, served as a palace, a prison, and a gruesome execution place. Hear the stories of prisoners such as Anne Boleyn, Henry VIII's unfortunate second wife, who met her end there in 1536. Your tour ends at London Bridge station.

I absolutely loved this tour. Our guide Geebs Lovegood was absolutely fantastic and had so much knowledge. The locations were great, but what I really loved were all the things Geebs told us about, so many wonderful details that even the most die hard fan like myself didn’t know, particularly JK’s inspiration behind many things, like Gringotts Bank. It was so enjoyable, just do it x

Fantastic tour with really good food and lots of amazing facts. Our guide Billie was absolutely fantastic. Super friendly and knowledgeable. I would suggest definitely not eating prior to the tour as there is a lot of food. Meeting spot was a bit hard for us to find so definitely give yourself enough time to arrive at the location and search for the group. Highly recommend.

Billie was a FANTASTIC tour guide! This was such a fun tour, so much so that I would be tempted to do it again when I was back in London. Highly recommend this tour for a bit of culture and history and TONS of delicious bites.

Our guide Charlie was amazingly knowledgeable and humorous. He was the best part of our tour. The food was fantastic too, but Charlie did a wonderful job and I will recommend him to my friends and family.

The guide is a great enthusiast and makes you enjoy the visit 100%
