- Duration: 11 hours
Enjoy the rolling hills of the Cotswolds, and visit 4 of its loveliest villages – Burford, Bibury, Bourton-on-the-Water, and Stow-on-the-Wold. Travel through the Cotswolds, an area seemingly unchanged with the passing of time. See rolling landscapes, dry stone walls, quaint churches, and streams that tumble past tiny villages and charming hamlets. On this full-day excursion from London, you’ll begin your tour in Burford, where the magnificent High Street slopes down to the River Windrush. See the town’s small tea houses before heading south to picturesque Bibury for lunch. Dine in one of the prettiest villages in England. A 2-course meal awaits you in the heart of the Cotswolds at the Swan Hotel. The restaurant, overlooking the River Coln, is housed in a 17th-century former coach inn, and serves a popular range of traditional dishes, along with ales and fine wines. Explore Bourton-on...
Exceptional tour guide and coach driver, very friendly and knowledgeable about the area as well as stunning views of the Coswild villages. The only downside is we didn't get to have lunch at the Swan Hotel, as listed. We were taken to a place called the Cotswold Arms and the food was a joke. The apple crumble was bitter and the steak pie had no base, it was one inflated puff pastry balloon. Sainsbury's provide better meals for 1/20th of the price. The same tour without lunch is £55 and we paid £96 for the tour with lunch. That's £46 on a very, very poor lunch. But the stunning views and villages compensated. Beautiful day trip.
Explore the picturesque villages and scenery of the world-famous Cotswolds region on a private full or half day tour. Get off the beaten track and avoid the coach crowds with the help of your local guide. Visit the destinations you want to see, where practical, and discover locations you may not have heard of too. As the tour is private, the itinerary and start time are flexible. Along the way, enjoy coffee, lunch, and cake stops to suit your schedule as well. Possible places to visit include Lower Slaughter, Stow-on-the-Wold, Minster Lovell, North Leigh Roman Villa, Broadway Tower, Chastleton House, Kingham, and Kelmscott Manor.
Drive through the narrow, winding lanes of the Windrush Valley to Minster Lovell, with its ribbon of thatched cottages lining the main street. Meander on through Asthall and Swinbrook. picture-perfect houses nestle either side of the River Windrush as the bus travels up the narrow lanes to Stow-on-the-Wold. Admire the town square and the views from the hilltop, before stopping for a delicious lunch at one of the regions finest pubs, a traditional pub in Burford. Continue to neighbouring Bibury, a village referred to by authors and poets alike as "the prettiest in England." Admire the clear, trout-filled stream and village green, before traveling up the single-track country lane, through Ablington. Travel a little further along this secluded valley before heading onward to Bourton-on-the-Water, otherwise known as 'The Venice of the Cotswolds' with its stream running through the center of...

Easy to find meeting point and smooth drive ( Neil, our driver, ensured that we have a safe and smooth drive through the pitoresque Cotswolds). Everything was well panned and we had enough time to explore all destinations and even do a little bit of shopping. Andrew, our guide for the day, was a living and breathing encyclopedia giving us so much information about the places what we visited and more than that. I would definitely recommend this tour even for the ones that are self sufficient and able to drive around Cotswolds ( yes, there's more flexibility on doing that but with a knowledgeable guide you know what you're looking at and you're assured that you don't miss any points of interest of the area). Thank you, Andrew and Neil, it was a pleasure getting to know a little bit more about England's beautiful countryside
My daughter and I have just returned from a wonderful day experiencing some of the most beautiful villages in the Cotswolds. The day was made even more special by the professional attitude of Frank, the very knowledgeable and approachable guide with a great sense of humour and Neil, our very kind and polite driver whose great driving would have put me to sleep if it wasn't for my lovely conversation with Frank! The 4 villages we visited were lovely and it is impossible to choose one as a favourite as they each had their own charm. The food was excellent and the service at the restaurant was very efficient as we were trying to keep to a schedule. I definitely recommend the day trip and have myself already booked another day trip to Windsor Castle!
All ingredients for a perfect recipe. Start with Frank our guide and Ricky the pilot, comfortable clean bus. The group and the perfect weather. Frank kept us engaged with his insights to the history and interesting facts of the places visited.
A very relaxing and enjoyable tour. The tour leader, Frank, gave us a lot of information about the places we visited and was very polite. He cracckd a few jokes too. The scenery was amazing and the lunch was exquisite.
Lovely Sunday well spent. Travelled alone but it was still fun. Will recommend for a fun day out of town with the girls. Loads of shopping and eating opportunities. It was lovely
