Full description

Join an eco-friendly, no-chase whale and dolphin cruise from Los Cristianos. Explore Tenerife South's rich marine life with the only cruise company in Spain that collaborates and is recognized by the non-profit organization Sea Shepherd to ensure a safe and conscious whale watching experience.

Depart Los Cristianos Harbour on a specially-certified boat that can go out further than a 3-mile radius due to the highly qualified captains onboard, which is highly advantageous as if the larger whales or other species are spotted. Initially setting out to visit resident short-finned pilot whales and bottlenose dolphins with the opportunity of seeing other species on their migration course.

Fin whales, sperm whales, blue whales, and even orcas can be seen on your tour. Keep an eye out for migrating turtles, tuna, and even sharks.

Listen to a guide tell you about the ecosystems of the region. Learn about the habits of the resident dolphins in front of the cliffs of Los Cristianos. As you cruise, enjoy the view of Mount Teide and a large part of the southern coast of Tenerife.

Occasionally, there is time to stop for a short swim on the coast on the way back to the Los Cristianos Harbour, however, the mission of this tour is to spend quality time with the marine life that is encountered so the swim stop may not be possible due to time restraints, being honest, there is not usually time to do this on a two-hour tour, and time with the wildlife is greatly compromised, which cannot be an option on this tour.

Feel comfortable knowing that the whales and dolphins are always put first. To make sure that they are not disturbed, they are not forced to dive, an important part of ethical whale watching.

Spend time with them, observe them in your natural environment, and how they naturally behave. Embrace the excitement of knowing they are not harmed as they come close to the boat due to their beautiful and curious nature.

Rest assured that you will not be harming or bothering any animal you come across on your trip. Your trip is also helping defend the oceans as part of your ticket is donated to Sea Shepherd.

Definitely worth feeling seasick the rest of the day! The crew were very welcoming, friendly and informative about the area and local sea life. We got to see lots of the pilot whales and a couple came right up to the boat! We would stop and watch them until they swam away and carry on which was amazing to observe. On the way back, we were close to the port when we saw some dolphins. They actually turned the boat around to get a little closer and watch them rather than just continue back which was great. The crew’s passion for sea life really came across and it was great to hear about charities they work with and where to find out more. I would 100% recommend to anyone and definitely good value for money. We didn’t stop to swim but I was glad to have more time to see the whales and dolphins instead. I can only describe seeing the whales and dolphins jumping out of the water as magical.

The trip was well organised and the crew were very informative. We saw several short fin pilot whales (our reason for taking the trip) but only caught a glimpse of a bottlenose dolphin, this was not a problem for us as we have seen many before in other places. Many people, some quite elderly, ourselves included, arrived 20 minutes or more before departure and had to queue in the hot sunshine with no shelter available.

We had a very curious group of 7 pilot whales (including a two week old baby) who played in front of our boat for a good 20 minutes. The crew was very informative and we even helped save the ocean a little bit by picking up a fishing net from the water.
