Really great tour to learn more about the social and political conflicts in the city, expressed through street art and graffiti. Our tour guide, an artist himself, knew a lot about different artists, their styles and signatures. It wasn’t a lot of walking, but a lot of input and even now when we walk through different areas of Tel Aviv we recognize some of the artist‘s work. Highly recommend this tour! One thing that wasn’t mentioned is the starting point of the tour - so we met close to Florentine (South), however we had to walk 10-15 minutes North to the starting point which was close to Carmel Market. Wish we knew that beforehand. The tour takes place either in Florentine OR Nahalat Binyamin and doesn’t end where it started, as mentioned in the description.
I was not given the option of meeting close to the start of the tour as another group was given. Meeting at 21 Leontin is a problem as construction Plus the entrance is around the corner Plus no note to say go inside into the Lobby of the building. I was early and alone. When I called the organizer was rude and unhelpful.
It’s so much more than just graffiti. It’s an understanding of the political and cultural expressions of the street artists, often portrayed in very clever, funny and whimsical ways.
Yaela was fantastic -smart, informative, experienced. A very comfortable guide who knew her material and took into account the dynamic of our group. She’s an excellent guide.
Loved our tour guide Racheli. She was knowledgeable and personable and led a very informational and meaningful tour.
