Full description
Mount Kazbegi, measuring in at 5,033 meters above sea level, is rich with tales of Georgian folklore and spectacular views over the surrounding landscape. Begin your day early with pick-up at your hotel in Tbilisi, and as you travel along the Georgian Military Highway from Tbilisi, stop in at the 16th-century Ananuri Fortress, located by the Aragvi River. Admire its high, turreted stone walls, which protect two churches, a watch tower, a spring and a reservoir, and the beautifully carved facade adorned with animal, floral and Celtic style patterns. Continue the tour to the Cross Pass, from which you can enjoy spectacular views of the mountains and the beautiful Aragvi River gorge, and then make your way to the village of Stepantsminda, located at the foot of Kazbegi mountain. On the slopes of the mountain, discover the ancient 12th-century Gergeti Trinity church and the famous 5th-century cave of Bethlehem. The trip was punctual, organized for the customers sole satisfaction.

The Kasbegi trip was the highlight of our Georgian tour with our base at Tbilisi. The Guide and tour were friendly and mindful not to converse in Georgian too often and apologised on one or two occasions. They made it a point to highlight all the landmarks and panoramic sights and a brief history of each. They prioritized the customers comfort and always sought permission before hand including when stopping for lunch.Recommended strongly that wine for which Georgia is famous is purchased from these fair priced shops rather than the wine shops as very often we got far better competitive prices in these supermarkets than in the wineries ( where they often hike prices according to the customers appearance) Strongly recommended is the Paragliding arranged on the way back, it is secure and well conducted by international licensed pilots who familiarize you with all the rules Paragliding. The tour of the Gergeti Trinity church at the top of Mt Kazbegi is a lifetime unforgettable experience.
