Full description

Your tour will begin in the morning as you meet with your guide and driver and begin your day trip to Mtskheta. Mtskheta is the ancient capital of Easter Georgia (called Iberia), and has been named as the "Holy City" by the Georgian Orthodox Church. Mtskheta is a very beautiful and cozy town, charming with its cobblestone streets and mountainous backdrop. Whilst here, you can visit the main cathedral of Georgia, Svetitskhoveli, which was built in the 11th century.

Svetitskhoveli also contains the graves of numerous ancient kings and many other sacred things, such as Christ's Robe. You will then drive to the Jvari Monastery, which was built in the 6th century. It is considered a unique monastery, mainly due to its architectural construct.

Javri is located on the top of the hill overlooking the confluence of two rivers: Mtkvari and Aragvi. Whilst here you will also be able to visit the Samtavro and Shiomgvime monasteries, before later driving back to Tbilisi in the evening.
